Mike is a Stonington native and graduate of Stonington High School. Upon graduation he felt pressure to attend college before quickly realizing that college wasn’t the right choice for him. He was a very mechanical, hands-on learner who knew he couldn’t sit behind a desk. He enjoyed wiring stereos and computer networks which led his future father-in-law to suggest he try electrical work. This was a natural fit for Mike, and he enjoyed this work because it was challenging, hands on, and always different. Working hard and seeing a tangible, finished product was very gratifying. Mike served his electrical apprenticeship in CT and went on to obtain his Journeyman and then Master’s licenses from the State of CT and RI. In 2011 he formed Evering Electric LLC. The opportunities that have opened up since Mike took that leap of faith into the trades have far exceeded expectations. Mike and his team have had the pleasure of working with many wonderful people on an extensive variety of projects, with experience that includes high-end residential construction, generator installation and service, home theater installation, general electrical service, and commercial work. With his experience and talented crew, Mike strives to be the best in the business.
In Mike’s spare time, he enjoys working on cars, hiking, skiing, relaxing by the pool, playing the saxophone, and spending time with his friends and family, including his wife Jen of 15 years, two children Luciana (11) and Matthew (9), and dog Zoe.
Jen is a lifelong Stonington resident who grew up in a family where both her parents and grandparents owned trade-based family businesses. She is a graduate of the UCONN School of Business, and her work experience includes sales, small business bookkeeping, and accounting. Jen and Mike formed Evering Electric in 2011 where she helped behind the scenes while continuing to work in banking/accounting full time. Jen joined Evering Electric full time in 2021 to manage the office. “What I enjoy about the electrical field is the versatility and limitless opportunities. An electrician is always in demand.”
In her spare time, Jen enjoys spending time with friends and family, skiing, traveling, and hanging out at the pool on summer days. GO BACK TO THE TOP
